Transformers : Dark of the Moon Review

Well, its finally here. The movie that i have been waiting for probably a good half a year.. I managed to catch the first show at TGV 1st Avenue here in Penang. It was so exciting that it was only thing i was talking about. When the movie started, it showed Cybertron in 3D, and that was simply amazing.. the level of details that you can see in that 1 scene is astounding. This movie is visually stunning. All the slow mo, the hero shots and 3D weld together to become a feast for your eyes. Action was out of this world.
As a transformers fan, i was satisfied.
But as a movie fan, i am slightly disappointed. Michael Bay's formula for a movie has remained unchanged for so many years. Big explosions, hot chicks, create a dire situation and bring in the hero at the very end to save the day.
There are some things i feel could have been improved but most notably, as a Transformers fan, these are my complaints.
a) Don't give Optimus a weapon cache if he's only goin to use a fraction of it.
I was so excited to see the Optimus having the trailer especially when he used the flight pack. I just hope that he used more of it.
b) More screen time for SHOCKWAVE and Soundwave, Shockwave was the only villain who had a truly evil presence in the whole movie. Megatron was more like a crippled villain's father who tagged along for the party.
c) Soundwave was a car, A CAR! How did he go from being a radio in G1, to being satellite in Revenge of the Fallen to being a Mercedes SLS AMG in Dark of the Moon is beyond me..
d) the ending was abrupt, sure good guys won, optimus delivers his monologue but fade away la.. ish
e) rosie huntington-whitely... i missed megan fox in the movie :(

Having said all that, here are some things i liked (if its mentioned here, then i extra liked it) :P ;
a) Barricade is back albeit for a very short time. Nice to tie loose ends from the first movie eh?
b) The highway chase scene.. all of it.. from the beginning when the decepticons chase till the end where Ironhide finishes them off
c) despite being a lil messy with so many action sequences at the end, it was truly enjoyable. gave me goosebumps watching them :P
d) the human element was funny and was a nice filler..

Transfomers: Dark of the Moon

Sure, it seems like i only blog when a transformers movie comes out :)
Dark of the Moon or Transformers 3 is the latest and supposedly the last of the trilogy. Apparently, Michael Bay and Shia Le"Beef" want to move on...
When i first heard the title, i had the same feeling when i heard the title Attack of the Clones. B-Grade for highly anticipated movie.. really hope Bay doesn't screw it up.
When the trailer came out, it looks good but somehow not good enough. Well, in the trailer you get to see sentinel prime, shockwave, the ark and even the space bridge being opened right next to washington monument. i am not trying to drive a point here. in a way,i am actually glad that the trailer is slightly underwhelming cause that usually translates that they are saving the good parts for the movie..hopefully..

i have big hopes for this movie and will be catching the first show when its released on june 30th (we get to watch it before the americans again :) )

p.s. besides transformers, a fairy sorta inspired me to blog again.. here's to you.. you know who you are :)

Wolverine... was disappointing..

This post is probably long overdue but I’m going to go ahead with it anyways. I watched wolverine when it came out with expectations. Now i have had the chance to watch the leaked version but after watching a couple of seconds of it, I decided against it to avoid ruining my movie experience. This is the first of xmen origins movie set to be released. it’s going to be followed up xmen origins: magneto even though no news of that is coming up. The movie started out well.. the death of logan's father and the montage of wolverine and sabretooth going through all the 4 major wars in American history was pretty good.. but even through that montage.. something seemed a lil amiss but i couldn't quite put my finger on it.. as the movie progressed.. the action scenes coming and the story unfolding.. i noticed that the movie was draggy and the action scenes very uninspired... the special effects seemed like they rushed it to the fact that it seemed fake.. i am not trying to someone who insists that everything has to be the same as the comic itself (cause i understand that the transition to movie requires changes) but changing deadpool to optic beam shooting, teleporting and mute is just not acceptable. sure the movie is about WOLVERINE but really.. can't they give wade more screen time then say wraith or blob.. i appreciate inserting gambit into the picture but he was just more of a filler character and seemed out of place most of the time.. all in all, for all the hype and expectations it carried.. It failed.. Now I might be a minority with this but this is how i feel..

GI Joe

Now most of you would have probably watched the super bowl ad for the movie GI Joe. This is the longer version and seems more on the theatrical length version. It looks promising but the tagline that they used on both trailers is a little lame. I mean when all else fails, we won't. Doesn't sound bad ass at all.. but I guess that doesn't matter since the action sequence looks promising :) We will just have to wait and see.

heyo.. Been a really long time since i updated this.. it’s all the way back in November of last year.. Been really preoccupied with "stuff" :) anyways, i started this blog about the time when transformers was released. I was unemployed then, had loads of time in between sending out job applications and was mostly spending time on the internet. Now the second one; Transformers: the revenge of the fallen is coming soon on June 26th. While the new theatrical trailer has confirmed the return of Megatron in a new vehicle form, the main villain this time around would be Starscream and also the Fallen. There are lots more robots this time around, along with a classic bad-turn-good robot as well (seems like almost all stories have one of those these days; ie- Vegeta in Dragonball, Dinobot in Beast Wars, Baran from Dragon Quest and Hiei from Yuyu Hakusho). Bumblebee seems to have lost its ability to talk again. the use of Scorponok score half way through the trailer is awesome especially since I’ve been obsessing about the song for the last couple of months :) quick side note, try listening to the song backwards ;) i still don't see fallen within the trailer even though Ben insists that’s him in the desert scene where he attacks a troop of army men. Devastator looks awesome. by the way, the dude on the uniwheel rolling around the city isn’t devastator. its just the torso. Watch the trailer till the end for devastator or refer to the picture below. I am not going to say much here as the trailer pretty much does it for me. At the time of this entry, the new theatrical trailer is only exclusively available in yahoo movies. Watch it in Firefox for best viewing quality.

Iron Man DVD

The other day I bought the Iron Man 2 disc Ultimate Edition. It came with an iron man helmet containing 2 DVDs. The helmet is flat and not a 3D one that you can wear but it’s definitely a nice touch as a collectible :) the 1st disc contains the movie and some special features while the 2nd disc contains more of the making of the movie and extras that cover that. The DVD didn’t come with commentary unlike most other DVD but all in all it’s a good buy.

have you ever had a case of restlessness...? this can also be known as agitation.. it happens when you are a little free or doing something normally but you will have a strange sense of anticipation towards something big. you get nervous for no reason, your heart starts beating faster and you even find it difficult to breathe. You try to move around hoping to shake it off but it stays with you.. this may not be a serious medical thing but the entire scenario of not being able to relax despite whatever you do is just a big hassle :S
i have episodes like this before..im having one right now.i have no idea why i am so tensed or restless but it feels weird. i tried calling my sayang thinking im just missing her way too much then i remembered its still 8am in the mornin where she is at and she'd probably be rushing to class.. i walked around a bit to shake it off but it didnt work.. i cant focus on work all of a sudden and even a call i did to a customer didnt help.. im writing this post in the hopes of mellowing it down a bit but im starting to freak myself out :s

Alternate Ending

I have been a fan of the Matrix since it first came out in the year 1999. It just showed a whole new concept in cinematography and the way everyone defined action. After the Matrix came out, everyone started using the bullet time and by the time the sequels came out, it was overused..
The beauty of the matrix was the concepts in which the story goes. It had a hint of religion (which is more prominent in the Animatrix), it had a eerie possibility of the entire scenario (even though, its fiction), the entire fashion sense of wearing black and looking cool (although, everything had a green shade to it) and finally the messiah of the freedom fighters who has super powers :)
While most people disliked the sequels, they were quite good. However, I couldn’t say the same thing about the ending. The entire hero sacrificing himself doesn't work for me (even though, I am one who usually roots for the villains). After some time, a game called the Path of Neo came out.. This came out for more than a year now but i only the privilege of seeing a week back.
The ending in this game was changed from that of the movie. I think it suited more to the story but the whole concept of a Megasmith didn't quite come out well..
Still it does look cool enough for an ending of a game :)

Sushi buffet

I have always wondered how a sushi buffet was. The closest to a sushi that i have tasted was the ones that was available in Carrefour and some food court but even while eating them, it just didn’t taste right. Last weekend, my elder brother was going with his friends to the Equatorial for a sushi buffet. Since i had nothing else planned for the day, i decided to tag along and try it out myself. We arrived at the Hotel Equatorial at about 11.30am. Being that, it is a buffet, we decided to come earlier for a taste of everything :)
The buffet held at the Kampachi restaurant. It had a nice setting. The ambience, the kimono clad ladies and the overall feel to it was alright. We started off with fresh orange juice. Then we went for the sushi bar, i took a couple of raw fishes cut in a rectangular shape. It looked ok but it left a bad aftertaste in my tongue, most probably due to the fact that it is raw. I am probably not used to it yet..
The half cooked sushi on the other hand was splendid. Dipping it in wasabi laced with soya sauce, gave a new taste which i definitely liked. The sashimi and California rolls were good as well. It’s far much better than the crap that we get in food court :)
We later tried the Teppanyaki dish. I took the chicken and salmon. There was much difference in the way the chef fried the dishes until he melted the garlic butter and mixed with a sauce of some sort. The chicken was fried like normal but the salmon was done to perfection.

There were some other dishes as well. Like the chawa mushi which is like egg pudding like thing and tempura prawns which isn't worth mentioning. The rest of the meals were ok but we kind finished it off early. Sushi buffet was nice but I’d probably go for another one to compare later on...

Paintball..

I went for a game of paintball on Monday. It was considered a company outing since its all paid for. I was pretty excited cause i have always wanted to try out this activity and just never got the chance since it was more of a group event. Considering we are in a generation of CounterStrike playing kids, I am sure i speak for most of us that this is one game that we would all like to experience at least once :)

The game of paintball is much like CS round, only instead of shooting bullets, u shoot paintballs pellets. And yes,its all real and not cyberspace shooting. The paintball gun shoots pellets by using air from a gas canister which is attached to the base of the gun. The gun will have pellets holder for ammunition and the main frame is made to look like a real gun. It has its own safety button much like a safety release of a real gun. When not in "combat", the gun's nozzle would also be covered by a "sock".
Safety is pretty important too. We were given a goggle which is more like an helmet with a visor. We were expected to wear long sleeved t-shirt, long pants and sports shoes for the game. There is also the option for a vest and overalls that u can rent but most of us just opted not too.
The game is pretty simple. Shoot the opposing team and get rid of all of them. One shot is all it takes for a person to be eliminated but the shot has to burst and leave a mark. If it were to bounce off, you are still very much in the game. The other way to win the game is by touching the goal line of the opposing team without being shot once. The field itself is filled with bunkers in which you can use as a cover.
I managed to play a couple of rounds as there were quite a number of us and we had to take turns going in. The game was fun and even though it was scorching hot under the afternoon sun, we were all having the time of our lives. While i did manage to inflict a few headshots and eliminate people, i was shot at my arm during the last round. It felt like someone were to slap my arm but otherwise,i wasn't bothered about it. However later on, i noticed that it left a red mark, kinda like a bruise. The shot wasn't close range so it was not that bad but it did cause a blood clot. Even so, its one helluva of a game and i am looking forward to playing it again :)

Starcraft 2 Zerg

Zerg for Starcraft 2 has finally been unveiled.. Being a big fan of the Zerg race, I was wondering what took them so long when the Terrans and Protoss have unveiled most of the units including buildings and heroes..

Zerg really looks even stronger than the Starcraft 1 days. The Infestors can burrow and move underground.It reminded me of the Flaming Tongue Tank from Tiberian Sun.
The Queen looks totally different and has attributes that mirrors the Hatchery since it actually comes with 2 levels of mutation. The Queen is the Zerg's answer to the Terran's Thor and the Protoss' Mothership. While races seem balanced, the zerg definitely hold an advantage in attack by sheer numbers. Watching zerglings and banelings decimate enemy defense line which have single units which are far more superior in strength, is satisfying. The in game video of the zerg gives us a insight of what to expect but it would have been better with a commentary track. The Zerg unveiling video clip was ok but Blizzard have changed the voice for Kerrigan and the unit animation of the video clip looks more like an in game sequence graphic. This was a bit disappointing since Blizzard are well known for their cinematics sequence which have exceptional quality. I am not that pleased with they way Infested Kerrigan looks now. The interesting thing about Kerrigan in the first Starcraft was the human element that seemed to be there beneath all those evil and zerg infestation. Hopefully, it will be reverted back to the look she sported on the "tychus findlay" trailer or the one featured on the artwork trailer..
All in all, i am realy looking forward to this game and planning to upgrade my pc just for this purpose :)

My Kommuter woes

well.. its been way too long since i update this thing.. a lot has happened since then, elections,memorable valentine's day, champions league has reached the quarterfinal stage, starcraft 2 has finally unveiled zerg and im at halfway thru march...
i really havent been able to catch up with most movies these days. Not really in the mood to go out and all. My elder brother says im fast becoming an old man who just works and stays at home afterwards. maybe thats true but i just dont see a valid point to travel all the way from bangi to KL just to watch a movie. I have enough travelling as it is and with a service like KTM Komuter, it is just a process that i'd rather avoid..
KTM Komuter is by far the worst transit service that I have used in my life. Since i use it on a daily basis, I can tell u how bad it is. Don't get me wrong, I love public transportation. We would beat the hassle of a traffic jam and it seems more relaxing and economical. However the KTM Komuter service especially the one from Rawang to Seremban line is by the far the worst that I have had to use in my life. I have used Rapid KL system (formerly knowns as PUTRA LRT and STAR LRT) as well monorails and ERL. KTM Komuter ranks the lowest in terms of efficiency and punctuality. I have lost count on the number of times i have waited at a station for an hour. I have been in packed trains that doesn't have a working air conditioning system. People always seem to complain that Rapid KL is bad but they have the decency to make for their mistakes. If a station within the Rapid KL system was packed, an empty train would be released specifically to reduce the crowd. I have seen two extra trains in one scheduled time to accommodate the crowd size. In KTM Komuter, if a train was late, a simple PA system announcer would inform of the delay and how long it would take. This delay would probably get longer as time goes. By the end of the hour, the train would arrive and it would be super packed. KTM seems to be under impression that an additional train 5 minutes is enough to clear the crowd that as accumulated over the hour. When the train eventually does come,it is hot and stuffy. This is not because of the crowd but more towards the quality of the air con and poor air circulation within the train compartment.
KTM Komuter also seems to have a policy that on a public holiday, the first two train schedule would be canceled. Somehow, this has been condoned by most since they don't require the service. The KTM service is almost never punctual. I would understand the delays have something to do with the intercity railway that shares the same line as the Seremban-Rawang line but careful planning of schedule and allocation of usage by the intercity railway during off peak hours would do wonders to the system. For god's sake, the Komuter is almost surely to be late if it should be raining that day due to "technical difficulties".
Im not sure if KTM Komuter has a tag line or a motto that they strive on but if there were any, it should like one of the following;

-KTM Komuter:Screwing your timing,daily
-KTM Komuter:Your punctuality is our least concern
-KTM Komuter:Moving you forward,slower
-KTM Komuter:Hot,sweaty and stuffy

KTM Komuter had better buck up their service. its disgraceful for the price of the tickets that they charge. I'd be sending a copy of this letter to the STAR soon in hopes that this problem can be rectified and solved.. Im just crossing my fingers till then.. peace out people :)

i didn't really have anything of quality to say here. Im at work now where i wait for calls, so while waiting, im just passing my time by blabbering here. Its been a long time since i posted a proper entry onto my blog.the post on cloverfield can't be counted as a real post anyway :) A lot of things had happened since my graduation. I have since moved from my old campaign in my workplace to another.After two months,i moved to another company for obvious reason$ :)
Tomorrow is christmas.I really have nothing planned out at this moment but i do plan to catch AVP:R and national treasure 2. Stay tuned for a proper movie review and do expect more posts from now on :)

its been almost 2 months since i posted something over ere.. i have been really caught up with things and this hasn't really give me any chance to update the blog. over the past 2 months,i manage to find a transitional job at a telemarketing company. Being as bored as i was at home, i thought i might as well get a job whilst finding for a proper job. Its pretty ironic that i went back into sales and telemarketing for that. i always hated the idea of forcing someone to do what i want regardless of what it was. it defeats the term freewill. be it so, that the customers are the decision makers,at the end of the day telemarketers are the ones who put thoughts into their head. ah well.. the job pays and keeps me occupied so i guess i shouldn't be complaining :D

Anyways,my girlfriend left last week to continue her studies. A country that is more well known for its gun wielding gangsters, poor economy and Shevchenko than an actual education hub. Im not gonna get sappy and emo rite now. For those don't really know me,i m not really that much of a "feeling" kinda guy :P I just hope she's safe over there and that all is well.

Also last week,i graduated from my University. It was an interesting experience. Beats any prize giving ceremony that i have ever been during my school days. plus, my friends who were waiting outside made sure that it would be an experience that i would never forget. I was thrown in the air by them, which is a common tradition instead of throwing the mortar head. Though it was scary that i might fall flat on the hard ground, i felt very "uplifted" of my spirits (pun intended)

overall,this is all i have to spare at this moment of time. i'll try to update as often as possible from now on..

remember the good old days when you wake up on a saturday morning all prepared to watch you favourite cartoons.. I mean there were wacky races, looney tunes, batman n so on.. 1 notable cartoon was also Alvin and the Chipmunks. Alvin was the red sweats wearing 1. he had the attitude. Simon was the smart 1 of the bunch. He wore blue. Theodore is the youngest and he eats most of the time. He was the green 1. Together, this chipmunks had a band. Now,a life action movie is being made n the trailer is out. Of course, the chipmunks are CGI but its still interesting to watch nevertheless :)

My boredom game..

I have not been a fan of flash games especially those that require button mashing. you know like the para para dance machine thing on the Playstation or the PC for that matter. However, about a month ago, i was bored enough to go to miniclip.com and whilst i was browsing through the list of games,i came across this game called Up Beat. This game had all the characteristics of a the earlier genre of games. The colour, the fast beat music, the timing in which the buttons are suppose to be pressed and even the combo collecting. Surprisingly, i found the game rather likeable. I mean suer i have played games with 3D rendered graphics and amazing surround quality sound but this game was simple enough to play when one is bored. Its reminiscent of the good old Pac Man games. You just guide the dude's movement without having to worry how much ammo left or puzzles to solve..

I have wrote about Brazil's progress in Copa America in the past weeks. I stopped right about the time where they finished the group stages. Brazil then progressed to the finals in which they beat Argentina 3-0. This is tremendous win in my eyes considering Brazil just scraped through to the finals on penalties in the semi-final stage against Uruguay whereas Argentina recorded a very convincing victory against Mexico at the same stage. The Argentinians were hot favourites to win the Copa America this time based on their performance on the way to the final, displaying the fluency and flair of a truly strong team. Unfortunately, Brazil whom managed to beat the jinx of penalties, went on to win the final. You see, usually when a team qualifies to the next round on penalties won't really win it. I don't really know the cause but fatigue and mental tiredness might be most possible for this problem. In the Copa America final, the brazillian team which comprised of mostly players whom have only played a few times together manage to get the right team chemistry at the right time. With players like Juan, Julio Baptista, Daniel Alves and Robinho playing the game of their lives, it was all set and done after the 2nd goal itself (even though,it was an own goal by Ayala). Im truly happy about the win and being defending champions and beating Argies twice in a row in the same competition makes all the more sweeter :D

I realize that it has been a long time since i last updated this blog, for almost two weeks now.. I have been a little pre-occupied with the entire job - hunting and also with the fact that my "significant other" (dun say anything kashvini) came back for holidays after 11 months. I dun want to disclose any information about her as of this moment but it will come in the near future. While writing the past sentences,i also realized that i haven't really made a proper introduction of myself..

My name is Sasitaran Vasu. I am called Sasi. Im 24 this year and currently looking for a job after completing my degree program from University of Malaya. Frankly speaking this is the part where i really get confused during an interview. They always start off with describe yourself. I mean with so many things to say, you truly get lost with what u suppose to say and what you are suppose to omit out. I mean sure,i wouldn't be telling them personal details like what I ate in the morning n so on but after you say your name,age,education,brief family description and some of your interests which might be relevant to the job, what would be left to explain??
I used to get nervous when i go to interview but a wise senior of mine once said that " when you go to an interview, you got nothing to lose. You either get the job or you don't "
In more ways then 1, that sentence is very true. Shit happens but you don't waste time staring at it. You just move along or at least clear it up :P

What is 01-18-08 ?

A teaser trailer of a movie which is only known as "01-18-08" was recently released in the United States. This teaser was aired before Transformers was shown over there. Almost instantaneously, the trailer was one of the most talked about topic over the internet. It was drawing heavy searches based on the movie title and also its producer J.J. Abrams from Alias and Lost fame. I just watched the teaser and it seems interesting enough to get your attention, even though a specific special effect detail seemed a little fake.With all the mystery surrounding the movie,considering no story or details has been released,this movie is definitely something to watch out for.

My two cents on Carlos Tevez loaned to Man U..

Recently,headlines were spreading about an apparent loan deal for Carlos Tevez to Manchester United. Earlier, it was reported that the player was on the "to-be-bought" list of Manchester United but because of the on-going problem regarding the ownership of the Argentian player still in the courts, the Premiership announced that it will intervene any move made to buy the player. To avoid this problem. Manchester United are preparing to take Carlos Tevez on loan, just like his compatriot, Javier Mascherano's move to Liverpool late last season. Now, Carlos Tevez is undoubtedly talented and skilled with the ball. This has made most Manchester United fans rejoice on the prospect of Tevez leading the attack on the coming season's matches. BUT AM I THE ONLY ONE,WHO REMEMBERS MANCHESTER UNITED'S LUCK WITH SOUTH AMERICAN PLAYERS.Remember Juan Sebastian Veron, Diego Forlan and even Kleberson. These players never made a real impact with the team although, they were successful with other teams in mainly other leagues. Diego Forlan became the top scorer in La Liga the season he was sold to Villareal CF. Sure, Carlos Tevez had almost a season of experience in the premiership with West Ham United but will he really fit with the Manchester United style of play. With purchase of Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson, the team does look like its opting more for flair and attack minded football. The team even played attractive football last season which is partially due to Cristiano Ronaldo but will this style of play continue and will it actually give them the same success as they have had in the previous year. Whether Carlos Tevez will make an impact with Manchester United is still a big question but I really wouldn't hold my breath :)

My view on Brazil FC

As most of you would probably know by now,Copa America is going on right now in Venezuela. Being Brazil Fan, I have been keeping myself updated with their progress.

The Seleção has progressed to the quarter finals with a 1-0 win against Ecuador today morning. Brazil qualify for the next round as the 2nd placed team in group B with a total of 6 points,1 behind group winners Mexico. The defending champions were lacking their main stars like Ronaldinho and Kaka. With the both of them missing the squad, it seems more like the pressure has been put onto Robinho's shoulders. I still don't understand why Dunga is not using players like Cicinho,Juninho and Edmilson. These players have the quality to go and help the team retain the cup. The team seem to lack in the finishing department in front of the goal. The defense at times have been exposed to gaps and this proves to be great setback. At the time of this post, the Argies (which as much as i hate to admit) look more likely to be the favourites to lift the cup. I still have faith in Brazil to overturn their luck and form in the quarter finals. Coach Dunga has been promised the post till the next world cup so,it doesn't seem he is that pressured. Even so,the Brazil press and fans are always expecting the team to deliver so their performance here could be very important.
All in all,let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

My understanding on DiGi

By now,most of you guys would have seen the DiGi yellow man commercial on tv. It was made in conjuction to their promotion of DiGi:The Widest Coverage.For those who feel lost right about now, watch the video below :

The video was funny to say the least. It had a catchy tune and the darn yellow man was funny. It made people start looking out for a yellow man (that is assuming that they are a DiGi customer).This marketing gimmick can be considered a success cause everyone started talking about it,regardless of how they feel towards the yellow man (or yellow people cause i swear one of them yellows looked like a woman). DiGi came out with followups to the commercial with different versions as shown below:

However,the advertisement has ruffled some feathers with some Celcom users who also boast on having the widest coverage in Malaysia. 2 videos were made as a reply to the
DiGi yellow man:

I am reminded of the great brand wars of the American culture when i see this video. The rivalry between Coca-Cola and Pepsi or even Nike and Adidas has been classic. This might start to get interesting everyone and it would be good to entertainment:D

I watched Transformers today. Having already posted some details about movie,I am not going into those details for now. The movie can be very easily described as a freaking good movie. When watches the movie, you can easily relate it to any other Michael Bay film where there is enough comedy to make you laugh, enough explosions to make you go "wahh" (at least in your heart), enough special effects to make u believe its real and also enough story (which is not much) to make everything flow seamlessly. The movie starts out with Optimus Prime narrating the existence of the Cube a.k.a. AllSpark and what it means to the Transformers from the distant planet called Cybertron. After that, the Transformers logo or title is displayed (much like Armageddon and Pearl Harbor). The movie's main characters are obviously the Transformers themselves. However,the human characters like Sam Witwicky and Mikaela do well to fill the gaps :) My fear earlier that this movie would be an emo-fied one was misplaced. While there were flashes of it, it really didn't become very integral to the plot. The battles between the robots were fabulous with missiles flying about and shockwaves used to dispatch the enemies. When the robots design first came out, I was skeptical but after watching it on the big screen, I can see why it was modified in such a way. The new design gave it a more realistic look and feel to all the Transformers.The transforming of every robot was seamless and smooth. I liked the fact that the old transforming sound from the cartoon days were retained. It felt nostalgic. I do however have a few disagreements.

1. While all the Autobots were colourful, the Decepticons were all in the same mundane colour. This baffles me as in the cartoon even Starscream was very colourful and only Megatron was single coloured.

2. Megatron and Starscream didn't get enough screen time. Don't get me wrong, I like the Autobots but the two most iconic Decepticons are (to my taste) not given enough lines or screen time. We only get to see the classic arguments between the evil leader Megatron and the power crazy Starscream in one very brief scene. Even that can't be considered as an arguement.

3. Megan Fox was hot. However, her acting had some room for improvement.Shia Lebouf acting was good and I clearly see why this guy is an upcoming star. He even got parts in the next Indiana Jones movie.

All in all, this is one heck of a movie and it is worth the money.

My afternoon movie..

I watched an old movie. It was called "From Dusk Til Dawn". It wasn't an old movie per say but it was a good decade ago. I have never watched the movie but I was always interested in it. The movie had Quentin Taratino and George Clooney acting in it. The hot Salma Hayek has a part in the movie but it was more like an appearance than an acting part. Robert Rodriguez was the director of the movie. ( Spoilers ahead for people who haven't watch the movie like I was before today ) The movie started out slow. It showed the 2 protagonist as wanted criminals and they hijack a family with a motorhome. The group goes to Mexico where they stop at a supposed rendezvous point for the criminals. This is where all hell breaks loose and in every sense of the word. The bar in which our group stopped at, was a base of sorts for blood thirsty vampires. Honestly this was the biggest pulling factor for me. I have always been a big fan of vampire and werewolf movies that i have even watched crappy B-grade. Its the entire blood sucking that got me hooked into it. To me, that's fascinating :D

My Friend's Speaker Search..

I met my friend Alvin today.He wanted to get new speakers so we set out to Low Yatt Plaza to get one. He seemed to have his mind set on a Sonic Gear Speakers called Armageddon ( the new orange version not the old blue one). Apparently a colleague of his recommended the speakers. This colleague was also a musician so naturally, he would know better. When it comes to PC speakers,i'd put my money on brands like Altec Lansing Or Edifier but i remained open about this model from Sonic Gear. We checked out the speaker and it was good. It was a 75 watt speaker with fancy orange light on the woofer and volume controller. The woofer packed some serious bass and my friend being techno enthusiast was naturally inclined to this speaker. However, the satellite speakers lacked clarity. I am not sure if it is affected by the sheer power of the woofer.

After checking out those speakers, i manage to convince him to check out the Edifier speakers,just to widen his options. We came across the Edifier model M3400. This model only had about 40 watt in it. The speaker had power in its bass and woofer but it was still lacking when compared to the Armageddon. However, the satellite speakers of the M3400 had better clarity and in the end that proved to be the deciding factor. The price was about the same so it was a good buy.

My take on Karma..

Karma affects everyone. You don't have to be a Buddhist or Hindu to be bound to it. Everyone on the face of this planet is bound to it, one way or another. When I was a child, I never really believed in karma. Even though the moral teachers and Aesop fables that i grew up with repeatedly said that you should not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you or "Buat baik dibalas baik, Buat jahat jangan sekali", it still didn't hit me as something real or possible.

I started realizing in the power of Karma when I was in 2nd year of my degree. You see, I used to ridicule those who weren't from KL and how backward their hometown was when i was in my 1st year. 2 years later, I shifted to a place called Bangi which is not that well developed and, backward :)
Perhaps, the most notable karmic revenge that i got was my pimple scarred face. I used to tease a friend of mine who had a lot of pimples (i'm not gonna mention names here but he is a good friend of mine). Anyway, 2 years later... while i was on SPM break, pimples started appearing on my face like mushrooms after a storm.
Recently,I even had an instant backfire.. I was in Low Yatt Plaza (its the complex with all the IT gadgets and computer related items for all you non-PC savvy people). A guy was blocking the way to the escalator. He was standing blocking our way when it was clearly visible that a crowd was waiting for him to move away. I shouted out, " Woi, Move la..!!". To which the guy did..
Barely few hours later,i got the same thing from another person when i was about to leave the complex. I got to the bottom of the escalator and picked up my plastic bag because it was slipping out of my hand. Almost instantaneously, I heard a girl's voice from behind saying,"don't block the way...!"
Karma doesn't only see the bad thing that i do.. It sees the nice things as well..
I have always been a donor. I donate with what I have in my pocket.I also donate blood when i can though the last time caused me to faint. I am firm believer in donating time to help other people too.
In return, I enjoy a few perks in my life. For instance, I seem to always have some means to settle my financial needs when i urgently need it. It may not be proper one but a way is always visible for me to get out of trouble..
This are but a few of my experiences with karma...
Bottom line, Karma is a real Biatch.. Appeal to her good side and you will be justly rewarded.. :)

p.s. i wonder if i'll get punished for calling Karma a Biatch..? :)

My Say on Transformers..

2 posts in the span of 1 hour.. i guess that is a testament to how bored I am right now...

Transformers is coming out on the 28th of June. That is next week Thursday. I am sure as hell excited about the movie. I mean, Transformers was a part of my childhood. I have seen different versions of it including the dreaded Beast Machines. All the guys that i come across are all excited about the movie. However, there seems to be negative responses from the girls.. All the girls seem to dislike the movie completely. These are the same girls who have embraced most guy movies like the Superhero movies, Fast and Furious categorized movies and some others like the American Pie and so on. So,it is mind boggling as to why Transformers seems to be a difficult to be accepted.
A wise man once said to me that it would be easier to achieve impossible feats such as advanced A.I. or a bridge to the moon then to spend time understanding the female mind..
Anyway, Transformers.. 28th June.. don't forget to catch it.. WE GET TO WATCH IT BEFORE THE AMERICANS :D

My Football thoughts :P

Real Madrid has won their 30th league title this year. But the press kept on going how it was the their 1st title in 4 years. This case even happened in Manchester United's case. Let me clear a fact. When it comes to club football, I am neutral but my hatred towards Chelsea (post Abramovich) is putting my neutral status in jeopardy. Anyway, I don't understand how the Spanish and English press keeps stating that it is Real's and United's 1st title in 4 years. These clubs have won the title more than any other clubs in their respective leagues but the way its put into words makes it seem like 4 years is a long time.. I mean there other clubs that have not won the league in so many years but its not a big deal there.. Maybe both United and Real brought this onto themselves for being so successful in the past that their expected to win year after year. Personally, i thought Sevilla would spoil the fun for both Barca and Real at the last minute but hats off to Capello and his men for withstanding the enormous pressure and fightback for their vital win against Mallorca.. Life is boring currently for me.. I used to catch on some NBA action after the football season is over but now, even that is over with Spurs winning over the Cavaliers. I guess i'll just catch the Asian Cup for some good old competitive sport.. :D
